The Story Behind the Naming of Procorem

By March 31, 2015October 23rd, 2017Business Process Management (BPM)

What is in a name? That was an important question when creating Procorem. It’s the bread and butter of what our software could do, and how people would remember us. We also had to take into consideration other businesses with similar names, spelling, length of the name, keywords, website domain names, etc – the considerations were endless. To start we turned to an agency to come up with a sophisticated name, but then something unexpected happen.

The vision statement of Procorem was the idea of being able to automate core processes to allow for faster, more accurate and impactful decision making – creating a world where system and human processes harmonize as one..  With Procorem, we set out to build a unique solution which encompasses project workflow, document collaboration and core business process enablement in a single solution.  With a rich history serving both the real estate and financial markets we knew well the challenges these groups faced in managing their business processes.

Central to the vision for Procorem was scalability.  It is not just the largest corporations that need Core Process Management, but even the small investor, growing developer, inventive property manager have core processes which need to be managed as efficiently and effectively as possible.

One day, our CEO, Shawn McKenna, was discussing this mission statement with his brother, who was in the process of getting his PHD.  They ended up brainstorming a picking apart the mission statement to create the name you know today Pro Core M, aka Core Process Management. That was how the name was born!
